My family has been camping at this campground for 20 years. It was a family friendly, campground when the kids were young. A bit rustic, but quiet, wooded and a nice camping experience.

In recent years, they have chopped down tons of trees so they have a "river view". Of course, these campsites cost more money. The lots have become smaller and smaller and they are now right on top of one another. They are also expensive. We paid $41.00 for one night. The picnic table was falling apart and we had to clear off a large amount of "junk". (water hoses, piping, etc) We had only electric and water. (We don't have air-conditioning or a bathroom of any kind in our trailer)

They have lots of "seasonal" live-in campers, as many as 20?, (Large amount of mailboxes as you come into the park). There seems to be a rash of "golf-carts" allowed, we counted 11!!!! They buzz around, some with kids driving them, making noise and not adding to a very nice camping experience.

For years we have always invited a few family members or friends to stop by and visit us while camping and have a hotdog. The campground now apparently charges $4.00 per head for a visitor. This includes the same amount for 2 year olds. (I don't know what they charge for pregnant visitors.. they may also charge for the unborn) We have never been to a campground where they charge for family or friends to visit.

If you live there, it appears you can be as noisy as you like, driving carts around, dogs barking, etc. The campsite next to us had a 5th-wheel and two tents. Kept us up most the night since the fire pit was within feet of our trailer.

I'll be looking for a new local family friendly campground.

The campground itself is pretty. Decent amount of shade and sun. Lots are nicely stoned and have grassy areas--not very big. Facilities could use an updating. You have to push a button to get 3 seconds of spray in the shower. This was a little hard with a broken elbow. The personnel could use some lessons on customer service. "Sue" was a bit brash and treated us like we were second class citizens. When we were in the office one man came in to register and she was very rude-felt sorry for him. We saw her one evening driving around in a golf cart wearing a mask and fogging. She was going pretty fast with all the kids that were running around. I would've thought they might've wanted to notify campers they were going to be fogging, just in case someone was sensative--that was not done. We were there for the "Bike Fest on the Grand", which was touted as expecting 10,000 bikers. They were lucky if there were a couple hundred. Unfortunately, I'd think twice before going back.
